 ise de Delhi\nIn this project "Afghanistan: Roses under thorns." Oriane Ze
 rah chose flowers as a common thread in order to share a personal vision o
 f this country which has been torn apart by conflicts and tragedies for mo
 re than forty years. This vision is infused with more than a decade of tra
 velling through Afghanistan\, including more than 8 years of living full-t
 ime in Kabul\, where she currently resides.\n In addition\, the relations
 hip with nature and beauty seems essential to her in a place where violenc
 e and horror have been part of everyday life. The flower that represents l
 ife\, however fleeting and fragile it may be\, is beauty within reach. It 
 also symbolises in her eyes the fragile reconciliation of man with nature 
 in a country where more than 70 percent of the population lives in rural a
 reas. In a place rife with destruction and brutality\, this bond is all th
 e more valuable.
