&nbsp\;\n\nAs a dance form\, electro was invented in the suburbs of Paris
in the 2000s. The unique dance style has continuously evolved since then t
o become synonymous with explosive but precise movements. Join us on an el
ectrifying journey as we bring to you ELEKTRIK – a performance that rewr
ites what electro-dance means itself.\n\nELEKTRIK is the brainchild of Bl
anca Li who is credited as being one of the greatest masters of urban danc
 e.\n\n[su_heading size="16" align="left" margin="10"]About ELEKTRIK[/su_he
ading]\n\n\n\n\nELEKTRIK (2018) is the third exploration of the electro
urban dancing style by Blanca Li after the show Elektro Kif (2009) a
nd the film Elektro Mathématrix (2015). With eight performers who have
become global references for electro culture and a soundtrack composed in
part by Tao Gutierrez\, ELEKTRIK represents a formidable concentration o
f talent in a cheerful and fun show that can be enjoyed with the whole fam
ily!\n\nThe three-city tour of ELEKTRIK in India is being piloted by Allia
 nce Française de Bombay.\n\n[su_heading size="16" align="left" margin="10
 "]About Production[/su_heading]\n\nBlanca Li is a Director\, Choreographer
\, and Filmmaker. Whether she is working with her own company (The Blanca
Li Dance Company) or creating events &amp\; musicals\; staging operas\; di
recting feature films\; preparing museum installations or working with cir
cus artists\, she creates and produces a multitude of projects. A passiona
te explorer of all that is new\, of cultural mixing\, and of constant rein
vention\; she is inspired by a wide variety of sources – dance\, music\,
  new technologies\, theatre\, cinema\, opera\, fine arts etc.\n\nBorn in G
renada\, Blanca Li became a member of the Spanish national rhythmic gymnas
tics team at the age of 12. At 17\, she moved to New York\, where she stud
ied for five years with Martha Graham and in other schools including Alvin
Ailey’s\, Paul Sanasardo’s\, and at the Clark Center. Living in Spani
sh Harlem\, she witnessed first-hand the development of hip-hop as it was
emerging daily and simultaneously created the flamenco-rap group las Xoxon
es. When she returned to Spain\, she founded her first contemporary dance
company in Madrid\, which was selected for the program of the Universal Ex
hibition of Seville.\n\nBlanca Li was the first woman choreographer to joi
n the prestigious Académie des Beaux-Arts of Paris\, in 2021.\n\n\nBlanca
Li Dance Company\n\nHaving settled in France in 1992\, Blanca Li founded
her company in Paris in 1993 and has since created many works for her repe
rtoire. In 1998\, she opened her own dance studios in Paris (The Calentito
Studios). Her creations (including Alarme\, Stress\, Salomé) are often m
arked with a fusion of disciplines and genres coupled with a very Latin se
nse of humour.\n\nThe Blanca Li Dance Company tackles a wide range of them
es ranging from the Gnawa trance ceremonies of Marrakesh (Nana et Lila\, 1
 993) to ancient Greek art (Le Songe du Minotaure\, 1998)\, to the madness
of the contemporary world in the context of the September 11\, 2001\, terr
orist attacks (Borderline\, 2002)\, to the poems of Federico García Lorca
(Poeta en Nueva York\, 2007) and the pictorial work of Hieronymous Bosch
with Le Jardin des Délices (2009) which opened the Montpellier Danse fest
ival.\n\nElektro Kif brought the electro dance style to the stage for the
first time. A new urban style that had developed in Parisian suburbs in th
e 2000s\, electro soon took the world by storm with its ultra-fast and sop
histicated gestures. ELEKTRIK deploys eight virtuosos of electro dance and
redefines the codes of the genre. The performance was presented at the Su
resnes Cité Danses Festival in January 2018 and is currently on tour.\n\n
