It has the power to anchor sensations\, a musicality\, v ibrations\, a space where sounds and dreams vibrate. It is an imprint that shifts the gaze\, what Leonard Cohen called the «crack that lets the lig ht in».\n\nInspired with this insight I use my photography of «matter»\ , essentially wall matter\, to\nexperience this crack\, this passage\, in a lively and enchanted way. The walls are for me the materialization of a sensitive body in permanent apprehension. Their material is the crack that lets the light in \; it enchants our world by revealing the imprints of t ime and its memories\, and by creating a link between past and present\, v isible and invisible\, presence and absence.\n\nBy capturing a mural detai l\, a line\, an asperity\, a trace\, a furrow\, a wound\, my photographs\n allow us to extract ourselves from reality\, to lose all spatial and tempo ral reference points and\nmelt into abstraction. They aim to paint a ferti le abstraction\, to create sensations and emotions\, and to liberate the i magination so as to feel alive and connect us all\, collectively.\n\nAbout the artist\n\n\n\n\n\nLorraine Thiria was born in Paris\, France. Trained in painting at the Versailles School of Mural Art and in plastic arts at École Boulle in Paris\, Lorraine has established her own business as a pa inter. She creates unique and original textured walls for her clients usin g pigments\, sands\, plasters\, and oxidized surfaces.\n\nHer work as a pa inter involves observing\, capturing\, and utilizing numerous photographs of walls. These images are integral to her artistic process\, reflecting b oth inner journeys and distant travels. They embody impressions that conti nually enrich and renew her creative universe.\n\nLorraine describes herse lf as an adventurer of the sensory world\, striving to translate her emoti ons into photographic images. She seeks to capture the language of walls\, inhabiting their colorful memories and whispers.\n\nIn recent years\, Lor raine's photographic approach has evolved into an independent art form\, d istinct from her painting.
