 nAbout the Film\nHaytarma (Crimean Tatar: Qaytarma — meaning “return
 ” or “homecoming”) is a poignant Ukrainian period drama directed by 
 Akhtem Seitablaiev\, a filmmaker of Crimean Tatar origin. The film was Ukr
 aine’s official entry for the Best Foreign Language Film category at the
  86th Academy Awards.\nSet against the backdrop of 18 May 1944\, one of th
 e darkest chapters in Crimean Tatar history\, the story follows Amet-Khan 
 Sultan\, a twice-decorated Hero of the Soviet Union. During a brief visit 
 to his hometown of Alupka\, Sultan finds himself a witness to the brutal S
 talin-ordered deportation of the entire Crimean Tatar population.\nHaytarm
