at M. L. Bhartia Auditorium, Alliance Française de Delhi

The Institut Français en Inde, the Embassy of France in India and the Alliance Française de Delhi are pleased to organise an Indo-French seminar to mark the 100th birth anniversary of Albert Camus. The dialogue entitled « My favourite Camus » will bring together Indian and French intellectuals to talk of their Camus, the one who influenced them the most: writer, playwright, philosopher, journalist and citizen.

Camus, besides having an engaged and active political life, expounded a branch of thought, which is often referred as paradox of absurdity. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in 1957 for his important literary production which includes cult novels (L’Etranger, 1942 – La Chute, 1956 – La Peste, 1947), plays (Caligula 1938, Le Malentendu 1944), short stories (La Femme adultère, Le Renégat, Les Muets, L’Hôte, Jonas, La Pierre qui pousse), poems and essays (Le Mythe de Sisyphe, 1942 – L’Homme révolté, 1951).
