Orientation Test

orientation testOrientation test help us to assesses your current level of proficiency in French.  The key to mastering a new language and having a wonderful learning experience is to start with a class at your level! If you already have some knowledge of French and/ or have taken French lessons in the past, this test will help us determine which course is the right one for you. 

Please Note:
  1. Anybody who wishes to assess their current level of proficiency in French can choose to take this Orientation Test. There is no obligation to enroll for a course after taking the Test.
  2. If you are a complete beginner, you can enroll directly in an A1.1 course without taking an orientation test.
  3. The Orientation Test result is issued for admission and academic information purposes only. Only official examinations based on the CEFRL (such as TCF, TEF, and DELF–DALF) assess actual proficiency in French and are internationally recognised.
  4. We offer three Trimester courses every year with three quarterly sessions in a year – Jan – Apr (Spring) ; May – Aug (Summer); Sept – Dec (Autumn). Orientation test are usually conducted during admissions to these session i.e. month of December, January, April, May, August and September every year. 
  5. Appearing for orientation test is mandatory for any student who wishes to enroll with Alliance Française de Delhi for any level other than the Beginner’s Level (A1.1) and is unable to produce an authorized certificate (AF Network Certificate, DELF–DALF Diploma, TCF Certificate and TEF Certificate) not older than 6 months / 1 year. For lateral admission via authorized certificate (DELF/DALF, TCF etc.), please contact the Front Desk using the “Contact Us” form.
  6. Alliance Française de Delhi’s current session students and those with a one-session gap are not eligible to appear in the Orientation test to bypass their next level.

OrientationTest for Adults

Exam: OT  Adult test 3 ( Autumn 2026)
Age Limit: 17+ years
Mode: 100% online

Written Test Date – Monday, 24th August through the online Application, Apolearn. Details will be shared with you through mail

Oral Test Date – Tuesday, 25th August through WhatsApp call or online application, ZOOM– Timings will be published on the website

Registrations open from Friday, 14th August to Saturday, 22nd August 2026.

Result- The results can be checked from the website (afdelhi.org) on Friday, 28th August 2026.

Orientation Test for Kids and Teens

Exam: OT   Kids & Teens test 3 (Autumn 2026). 
Age Limit: 8 to 16 years
Mode: 100% online

Written & Oral Test Date – TBA. Procedure will be shared with you one day prior through mail

Registrations open from TBA .

Result- The results can be checked from the website (afdelhi.org) on TBA.

  • OT test are 100% online.
  • Written test through the online Application Apolearn. Oral test through WhatsApp call or online application ZOOM.
  • Registration Fee: Rs.1,200 (including GST)
  • Registration Limit: 100 candidates.
  • Result: The results can be checked on this page.

Note: Final mail will be sent to you for the timings and procedure a day before the test. The test timings will not change so, please plan your day accordingly. Our front desk team will get in touch with you for admission once the results are announced.
