La France Friday, 1 June 2012 5.30 & 7.30 pm Director : Serge Bozon 2007, 102 min Showing pop aesthetes during World War I, Serge Bozon has decided to claim his difference with La France. A young woman, Camille, after having received an unexplained breakup letter from her husband left for the front, decides to join him, disguising herself as a man. Along her way, she encounters a troop of soldiers and accompanies them for their long march. World War I is here almost an excuse for mentioning something else. For example, what binds a group or a couple together, and how you can leave the first for the second. The soldiers also grab some unusual self-made instruments and perform a kind of hybrid little song, a mix of archaism and sophistication. What represents this group of vagabond soldiers? It is very tempting to see here disenchanted activists or smugglers, a band of film buffs or a rock band. WITH ENGLISH SUBTITLES For more information, please send an email to [email protected]
