DESIGN X DESIGN
An Alliance Francaise de Delhi & Studio IF Initiative
Design in its multifarious expressions forms an integral component of every culture. Civilizations evolve and attain their full potential through it.
Starting this year Alliance Francaise de Delhi in partnership with Studio IF is extending the scope of cultural activities to include ‘Design’ in its calendar of events. The underlying energy behind the design of a pin or a city, apparel or cuisine being the same, the initiative would involve understanding & nurturing connections across various forms of design expression (architecture, urban design, interior design, product / industrial design, textile / fashion design, graphic / communication design etc) as manifest across cultures – Indian and French, local and global.

AKSHAY KAUL landscape Architect
Practice Profile
“ At Akshay Kaul and Associates, we look at every site as a unique habitat with its own dynamic ecology. Preservation of what is useful, restoration of what is degraded and enhancement of what is unique forms the basic ideology of our work.
We believe in connecting people and places ‘back to nature’ through establishing harmony and balance that leads to its unique aesthetics always simple but beautiful. This ‘off the beaten track’ approach and has many challenges. Our work starts with educating the architect, client, contractors, vendors, consultants, nursery people, and project managers towards greater sensitivity to nature and landscape issues.
We strive hard towards continuing the longevity of the planet through making master plans, landscapes and buildings that are more responsive to the regional ecology, its unique cultural, natural and spiritual heritage. Our team also offers consultancy for Green Towns, Green Buildings and provides technical support for Leadership in Energy and Environment Design (LEED) and TERI – Griha ratings.
