Synopsis

A young man, recently released from prison, confronts the social and familial challenges of rebuilding his life as he searches for a second chance.

“Third Week is a story about second chances. Alvin has just spent two years in prison, and his journey reflects the hopes of those seeking to rebuild their lives. Staten Island, the tool-and-die machine shop where Alvin works, and the people around him—including his grandmother, mother, and Jasmine—are all searching for renewal in different ways.

Rather than focusing on racial tensions, the film invites audiences into a deeply humanistic story that moves beyond social stereotypes often associated with Black characters. While grounded in reality, Third Week is not a documentary; it is closer to a fable than to a neo-realist narrative, offering a universal reflection on hope, dignity, and redemption.”
