Have you ever dreamt of visiting France? Are you passionate about quizzes and francophone culture? This is your chance to make it happen.
The DÉFI Inter-Alliances 2025 competition is a unique international competition that tests your knowledge of French and Francophone culture, geography, and history. Open exclusively to students of participating Alliances Françaises, this quiz offers the opportunity to challenge yourself on a global stage.
The ultimate prize? A week-long trip to Nice, France, where you will compete in the international final alongside the best participants from around the world.
The competition is divided into four stages:
1. A local selection phase organized by each participating Alliance will take place face-to-face or virtual format on 26 April 2025 at 2pm.
2. A Regional selection phase will take place in virtual format on 16 May 2025 at 4pm.
3. One semi-final per geographical zone will take place in virtual format on Saturday May 24 2025 (times by zone to be confirmed).
4. An international final will take place in person, at the Alliance Française de Nice, during the week of July 21, 2025.
AFD will organize competition in hybrid mode i.e. face-to-face or remotely.

You must have 2 devices to connect to the Internet at the same time for online participants and 1 device for offline participants :
– A computer/laptop/smartphone/tablet for Zoom video conferencing. (for online with zoom app)
– A computer/laptop/smartphone/tablet to participate in Kahoot. (for online and offline with Kahoot app)
Prizes:-
-The two participants in the local selection with the most points will be named finalists and will represent their Alliance at the national selection and will be awarded by their AF.
-The two participants in the national selection who score the most points will be named finalists, and will represent their “national” network in the semi-finals by geographical zone and will be awarded by IFI.
-The participant ranked first in the semi-finals of each geographical zone will take part in the international finals in Nice (July 21 to 27, 2025).
–The stay includes :
-Accommodation
-Transportation from the airport closest to the winner’s home to Nice, and from Nice to the airport of departure.
– Tickets for intercity transport (bus, metro, RER, etc.) are not included.
– An allowance of €400.
All other costs not included in the prize (insurance, additional luggage, etc.) will be borne by the winners. In the event that the winner needs to obtain a visa to travel to France, it is the winner’s responsibility to make the necessary arrangements. Winners are responsible for ensuring that they meet the requirements for travel to France.
In the event of visa refusal or inability to travel, the participant ranked second in the semi-final will be offered participation in the Final.
