Stories in Transition: Trans Identity in Literature and Graphic Novels

As part of the International Week Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia, join us for a panel discussion:

📚 “Stories in Transition: Trans Identity in Literature and Graphic Novels”

Through literature, graphic novels, and lived experiences, this conversation will explore how stories can challenge stereotypes, create visibility, and open spaces for empathy, dialogue, and understanding around trans and queer identities.

The discussion will be moderated by Dhrubo Jyoti, journalist and writer known for his work on gender, sexuality, and culture in India, along with his insightful reporting on LGBTQIA+ issues across leading national and international platforms.

✨ Speakers:

* Arpita Das – Founder and publisher of Yoda Press, recognised for her contributions to independent publishing and socially engaged literature in India

• Dhiren Borisa – Dalit queer activist and urban sexual geographer teaching at Jindal Global Law School

• Dr. Aqsa Shaikh – Activist and Professor at Hamdard Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, widely known for her advocacy for transgender rights and inclusive healthcare

• Ashutosh Prateek – Faculty at the University of Delhi and expert on queer experiences in 21st-century coming-of-age graphic novels.
