Online Study Method

Our Online French Classes are conducted using the following tools :

• The Website/App Zoom (for Demo Classes and current students of AF Delhi)
• the Website My Alliance (only for current students of AF Delhi)
• Study Material (only for current students of AF Delhi)

Zoom is the video conferencing platform used for our online classes and virtual sessions. Please follow the steps below to set up your account and join your class successfully.

Before Your First Class

1. Visit https://zoom.us.
2. If you do not already have a Zoom account, click Sign Up, It’s Free (top-right corner).
3. Register using the same email address you used for your course or demo class registration.
4. Check your Inbox or Spam/Junk folder for an email titled “Please activate your Zoom account.”
5. Open the email and click Activate Account.
6. Once your account is activated, sign in to Zoom.

Joining Your Virtual Class

• Every online class or demo session is conducted as a Zoom Meeting.
• Your meeting invitation and joining link will be sent to the email address used during registration. Please check both your Inbox and Spam/Junk folders.
• Click the meeting link a few minutes before the scheduled class time.
• If prompted, download and install the Zoom Desktop Application before your first class to ensure the best experience.

Recommended System Requirements

For an optimal learning experience, we recommend using:

• A Laptop or Desktop Computer
• A Webcam
• Headphones or Earphones with a Microphone
• A Stable High-Speed Internet Connection

While Zoom can also be accessed on smartphones and tablets, a computer provides the best experience for interactive language classes.

Browser Compatibility

If you are joining Zoom through a web browser, we recommend using the latest version of:

• Google Chrome
• Mozilla Firefox
• Apple Safari
• Microsoft Edge

To ensure smooth performance, keep your browser updated and periodically clear your browser’s cache and browsing history.

Helpful Tips

• Join the meeting 5–10 minutes before the scheduled start time.
• Keep your Zoom application updated to the latest version.
• Close unnecessary applications to improve audio and video quality.
• If you experience technical issues, restart Zoom or your device and reconnect using the meeting link.

Important: If you do not receive your Zoom meeting link before your class, please check your Spam/Junk folder first. If it is still missing, contact the course administration team well before the scheduled class time for assistance.

My Alliance is an online learning platform. First-time users are sent an email containing the link to the My Alliance website, their username, and password on the FIRST DAY OF THEIR CLASS. Please check the Inbox or Spam folder of the email address submitted by you at the time of registration for the same. These details remain the same as long as the student continues to learn French at Alliance Française de Delhi.

In case you cannot find the email notification or you wish to update the email address connected to My Alliance, please send an email with your Name, Contact Number, Class Details (Level, Centre, Time Slot, Teacher Name, Type – Weekday/Weekend/Fast Track/Kids) to [email protected]

My Alliance works best on Chrome/Firefox/Safari on a Laptop/Desktop Computer. We recommend that you regularly clear your browsing history on these to ensure optimum utilization of the platform.

You can buy the digital/hard copies of the textbook from the GOYAL PUBLISHERS STORE at Alliance Française de Delhi. The hard copy of the study material is accompanied by the relevant DVD-ROM containing the relevant Audio Files.
