CETA (Creative Energies Theatre Association, a registered theatre society) is organizing Eclectic Theatre Event- Part 2 which has been christened “Buy The People!?” on August 6th, 2011 at Alliance Française, Lodhi Estate, New Delhi between 6.30 PM & 8.30 PM. The punch line of the event is “It Makes Sense to Be Honest”. The entire event is entry free.
“Buy The People” is a campaign conceptualized by CETA in support of Jan Lokpal Bill. The campaign is conceptualized in the form of an Eclectic Theatre Event. It’s eclectic because various forms of theatrical activities have been conceptualized to disseminate the message –
1) Corruption Ka IIM (Black Comedy on what If Corruption Becomes A
Constitutional Right!!!)
2) Satire by the Stage Manager Chorus
3) Song & Dance Expressionism
4) Monologue Of Nietzsche’s Mad Übermensch (OverMan)
5) Gadha Main Hoon!! (Situational Comedy To Highlight The Common
Man’s Ordeals with Corruption)
6) Democratic Slavery (A Serious Play on how Corruption kills progress,
talent, growth and what are the remedies)
The entire event has been directed by Mrinal Dhar and the participants are from different walks of life including professional theatre artistes, people from MNCs, International NGOs etc.
The entire Theatre Event is Eclectic because it uses various forms of theatre like Drama, Monologues, Songs n Dance, Limericks, Narratives by Stage Managers to highlight the widespread corruption, its effects, its connotations and the remedies thereof involving Satire, Pun, Songs, Serious Acts, Facts and Figures.
