AFD’s GOT TALENT

Every year, Alliance Française de Delhi organizes a talent hunt competition, “AFD’S GOT TALENT” for its students, under the grand celebration of “The Francophonie Week.” All talent forms such as solo and group music and dance performances, short skits, sketch-making, magic shows, mimicry, puppetry, and many others are showcased on this platform. A jury of experts judge the event, and the winners get exciting prizes.
Each year between 30 to 40 enthusiastic and talented students participate in this talent show. It is surprising to see such in-house talent that we possess in our students, who all set the stage on fire with their amazing performances. This particular event effortlessly gathers a minimum of 500 spectators. With time, this event is turning out to be one of the annual events for the students.

FÊTE DE LA MUSIQUE
On 21st June, the entire world celebrates music in its different forms and manifestations through the “Fête de la Musique,” a day dedicated to promoting music created by the French Ministry of Culture, which first took place in 1982 in Paris. Since its first edition, this event has been known as a growing success and has become an international highlight amateur and professional practice of musical diversity. This is also an extraordinary occasion for many people in many different countries to attend free live performances, in all kinds of places, even the most unusual ones.
Taking part in the world-wide festivities, every year Alliance Francaise de Delhi also celebrates the Fete de la Musique by organizing a musical competition, “Faites de la Musique,” for the AFD’s current students, for both amateurs and professionals. It is an opportunity for the students to showcase the singer or musician in them. The students are free to perform any music genre in solo, duo, trio, or even in groups to promote the diversity of the music. It is overwhelming to see that in the past, this platform has helped some of its winners and participants in their journeys from being amateurs to be a part of the professional world.
Followed by the musical competition, the day is celebrated by a concert which is open to everybody, to bring together all the music lovers at one place. A gathering of more than 400 people come to the premises to be a part of this musical fiesta.
